Tutorial
1, January 2002 - Using Word to Manage Bulk E-mailing
|
Microsoft Word is a program already installed
on many new PCs. Many
people are using it to mail merge letters but did you know
you can use it just as easily to bulk fax and e-mail?
Tutorial 1 shows you how to bulk
e-mail but can just as easily be adapted for bulk letters
("snail mail") or faxing. The screen shots were taken from
Office 2000 but it should be very similar in Office 97.
E-mail is a much more cost effective
method of communication than snail mail or faxing so try and get as
many e-mail addresses from your customers as possible (and don't
forget to get their permission to send them promotional e-mail!).
Why is it so cost effective? For the low cost of a single connection
to the Internet (approximately 30 cents plus your time on-line) you can
contact 100, 500 even 1000's of customers at the same time. How much
does it cost to send out the equivalent postage paid letters or faxes - I'll let
you do the math!

tutorial!
